iPod is a portable media players and has differnt types for example, mini ipod, Ipod nano which has a thinner design and have a 24hrs battery life and comes in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB. (GB stands for gigabytes, it is the amount the ipod can hold). The iPod it self which has a larger screen, plus touch sense screen and can store up to 30GB or 80BG and have a 20hrs battery life and Ipod shuffle, which has a battery life up to 12hrs but it does not have a screen. Ipod was advertised by Apple and was created by Tong Fadell who is an employee of Apple.

The first IPOD was on the market shelf in october 2001 and cost around $249. It can play movies, TV shows, podcasts, store up to 25,000 photo, games, audiobooks, save video up to 100 hours and play over 19,000 songs. The iPod also has extra features it self like sound record, FM radio tuners, audio cables for TV connections and wired remote controls. There are also other accessories like speakers, remote controls, earphones, ipod case and many other. There are many generation of ipod, first model is with the mechanical wheels and holds up to 5 or 10GB was on market on october 2001, the second model has a touch-sensitive wheel and can hold up either 10GB or 20GB was on shelf on july 2003, the third model is similar to the second model but it has a variety of the amount of storage, it comes in 10GB, 15GB, 20GB, 30GB and 40GB, the fourth model was in market in october 2004 and it can display photo and can hold 20, 30, 40 and 60GB and the fifth model has a slimmer design and larger screen which could watch videos better, the fifth model was in market on october 2005 and can hold up to 30, 60 and 80GB.

Ipod nano was on the market shelf in 7th of September 2005 and it cost around $149 to $249. Its a smaller version of the orginal version of iPod. It has six different colours and the latest colour is red, it has a battery life of 24hours can hold up to 2000 songs, The first model has a slimmer design with colour screen, flash memory and lyrics support, it can hold 1GB, 2GB or 4GB. The second model was in market on the 12th of September 2006, it has a bright screen, longer battery life and a music search function, it can hold either 2GB, 4GB or 8GB.

iPod shuffle was on the market shelf on February 2006, it is a very small audio digital player. It cost around $79 to $119 dollars. It has a battery life up to 12 hours and can store up to 2 hundred and 40 songs, you can put music onto the ipod shuffle first generation just like a flash drive storing up to 1GB. shown on below is a picture of the first model of the ipod shuffle.

It is also known as the most wearable iPod ever, it can play MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF. The iPod shuffle is only 8.38 by 2.49 and 0.84cm its about the same size a pack of chewing gum. The second model of iPod shuffle cost around $119 dollars but its one of the smallest types of iPod. It is easily cliped on to any clothing and easily removed and clip on some where else, it comes in five different colours like the iPod nano.
